Our Story

Canine Howlistic Health comprises two devoted individuals, Rachelle and Kate, who share a deep passion for dogs and their well-being. Hailing from the picturesque Northern Rivers region, both Rachelle and Kate embarked on their journeys in the animal world as compassionate veterinary nurses. However, their aspirations led them to explore the world of physical therapies for dogs, driven by a profound desire to enhance canine health and capabilities, inspired and motivated by the love for their own furry best friends.

Rachelle and Kate have honed their expertise in a range of therapeutic modalities, including Bowen Therapy, Laser Therapy, and Hydrotherapy. Their collective dream has always been to provide dogs with a renewed lease on life, offering them the chance to live longer, happier, and more comfortable lives.

    Owner

    Rachelle, residing in the Northern Rivers for 23 years with her husband, son, four dogs, and two cats, entered the Veterinary Industry 35 years ago and co-founded Racecourse Road Veterinary Hospital alongside Dr. Willa Harrison. She boasts 15 years as a Bowen Practitioner and recently delved into Hydrotherapy, promoting a holistic approach to complementary healthcare tailored to each patient. Her true passion lies in witnessing her therapies' positive impact, bringing relief, healing, and happiness to patients and their owners, all while exuding dedication, compassion, and a calming presence that sets her apart. Rachelle’s wealth of knowledge, experience and skill, makes for a very supportive environment to help your fluffy heal and to navigate the best way to move forward.

    Owner

    For 15 years, Kate has been devoted to animals, working, volunteering, rescuing, and providing vital support. Her lifelong passion and love for her own dogs, led her to a career as a vet nurse a decade ago, where she dreamt of offering comprehensive, holistic care in a nurturing environment. Kate's vision is a place where animals can heal, receive dedicated care, and find natural solutions to health issues, especially for senior dogs.

    Kate resides on a beautiful property with her partner, dogs, chickens, and peacock and loves being an integral part of the local dog community, regularly meeting new dogs and their human companions. With completed studies in Bowen Therapy, Canine Myofunctional Therapy, Hydrotherapy and a strong foundation in Vet Nursing, Kate derives immense satisfaction from witnessing the positive impacts of these modalities on animals' lives. Her dedication to the well-being of animals shines brightly, and she is poised to make a profound difference in the world of canine care. Kate is also currently studying Animal Acupuncture.
